Empowerment on Wheels
After three years of dedicated effort, it is with a heavy heart that we announce the end of the 307 Skate Park and Youth Center initiative. Despite our passion and commitment, the lack of financial backing and dedicated community support has made it difficult for us to continue.
This journey has taught us invaluable lessons and introduced us to many incredible young people. It’s clear that in life, we must have the courage to try something new and, just as importantly, the courage to know when to let it go.
Moving forward, I will be redirecting my efforts into supporting the youth arts and music community, where I believe my energy will be better used. I urge all of you to continue supporting local arts and music initiatives in our town. Focus on those on the fringe, the youth who don't fit the mold—they are the ones who have the power to change the world.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who volunteered their time, money, and energy to 307 SPYC. Your support meant everything. I encourage you to look towards organizations like the Nicolaysen Art Museum’s youth art programs and groups such as The Sound of September, which are doing incredible work to support local youth music.
“Youth is not a time of life; it is a state of mind... Youth means a temperamental predominance of courage over timidity, of the appetite for adventure over the love of ease.” - Samuel Ullman
Thank you all, from the bottom of my heart.
With gratitude,
